Wexford County Community Mourns After Missing Pregnant Woman, Rebecca Kay Park, Reportedly Found Dead

WEXFORD COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) — A heartbreaking turn has emerged in the search for 22-year-old Rebecca Kay Park, the pregnant woman who had been missing since November 3. According to a member of a Tuesday search party, Park’s body was reportedly found while volunteers were searching for her. While an official confirmation from authorities has not yet been publicly released, the searcher stated that they personally saw the body of Rebecca Park.

Park’s disappearance had drawn widespread concern across the community, especially given that she was approximately 39 weeks pregnant at the time she vanished. Her loved ones, community volunteers, and deputies had spent weeks searching for any sign of her.

Last Known Moments Before Her Disappearance

According to the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office, Rebecca Park was last seen on November 3, getting into a dark-colored vehicle outside a relative’s home located on South 21 1/2 Road in Boon Township. Deputies reported that Park had arranged to be picked up by someone, though she did not disclose to the witness who that person would be.

Her disappearance immediately raised alarm, as she had not been seen or heard from since that moment.

Her mother, Courtney Bartholomew, was the last known person to see her alive.

In the days that followed, Park’s cell phone was found discarded along a nearby two-track road, according to her family—an unsettling discovery that deepened concerns about her safety and whereabouts.

Unanswered Questions and Troubling Details

Investigators noted that on the day she went missing, Rebecca received approximately $2,000 from a family inheritance. Authorities suggested that, in theory, having cash on hand could make someone more difficult to electronically track. However, her friends firmly stated that Rebecca had no plans to leave, and nothing in her life indicated she would willingly disappear—especially being so close to giving birth.

Her sudden disappearance, coupled with the found cellphone and unclear details about who picked her up, left loved ones desperate for answers.

Community in Mourning

The recent discovery reported by search volunteers has struck the community with grief. Many had held onto hope that Rebecca—and her unborn child—would be found safe. Instead, the news has brought heartbreak to every person who contributed to the search or followed her story.

While investigators continue their work, family and friends are left grappling with unimaginable loss, emotional devastation, and countless unanswered questions.

Rebecca Kay Park was a daughter, a friend, a soon-to-be mother, and a young woman with a life ahead of her. Her story has touched many, and her memory will not be forgotten.

Ongoing Investigation

The Wexford County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released additional details regarding the discovery, and the investigation remains active. More information is expected as authorities complete their examination of the scene and verify the circumstances surrounding her death.
