ST. LOUIS, MO – A tragic incident unfolded Sunday evening after a minor vehicle collision escalated into a deadly shooting, leaving a 26-year-old man dead and a community shaken. Police have arrested the alleged shooter, 27-year-old Tyrea Rowe, who remained on scene after the gunfire and was taken into custody without incident.
The shooting occurred around 5:35 p.m. on November 23 in the 2800 block of Cherokee, where St. Louis City Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired. When officers arrived, they discovered the 26-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency crews transported him to a nearby hospital, but despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced deceased.
Investigators say an early review of the incident indicates that the victim had been driving moments before the shooting when he accidentally sideswiped Rowe’s vehicle.
