BOSTON — The Boston Emergency Medical Services community is grieving the loss of one of its own. EMT Regina Suprin, Badge 1066, passed away after a courageous battle with a long illness, leaving behind a legacy of service, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to the city she loved.

A lifelong Boston resident, Regina devoted more than 13 years to serving her community as a member of Boston EMS. Her passing marks not only the loss of an exceptional EMT, but also the loss of a cherished friend, mentor, and colleague whose impact will continue shaping the department for years to come.

A Career Defined by Service and Leadership

Throughout her distinguished career, EMT Suprin served in multiple key roles across the department. Beginning in Field Operations, she quickly earned a reputation for professionalism, reliability, and her steady presence in the most challenging circumstances. Her skills and leadership later led her to Dispatch Operations, where her calm voice and decisive action supported countless responders in the field.

Regina’s natural ability to teach and uplift others made her an invaluable Field Training Officer in the Academy, where she helped develop and guide new EMTs entering the profession. Many of today’s providers credit Regina as a defining influence in their careers — a mentor who taught with patience, humor, and deep compassion.

Most recently, she continued her service in the ePCR Office at Headquarters, contributing to the essential data and documentation systems that keep Boston EMS functioning efficiently. No matter the assignment, Regina approached her work with integrity, enthusiasm, and the same commitment to excellence that made her beloved across every division.

Her dedication earned her numerous commendations during her career, including the 2024 Chief of Department Award — a testament to the quality of her work and the respect she commanded among peers and leadership alike.

A Colleague, A Friend, A Warrior Spirit

Regina will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments, but for the warmth and authenticity she brought into every room. Her wicked sense of humor, quick wit, and infectious laugh made even the toughest shifts a little brighter.

Colleagues describe her as fiercely loyal, endlessly supportive, and someone who always showed up — whether on a difficult call, during long nights in the Academy, or cheering passionately from the sidelines for the EMS hockey team.

Her kindness was matched only by her strength. Even as she confronted a long and difficult illness, Regina remained determined to keep serving. Her resilience and courage inspired everyone around her, demonstrating the true heart of an EMS professional.
