PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The Painesville community is reeling after an early-morning shooting on Saturday, November 22, that left 52-year-old Bo Martin dead and resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old suspect Dylan Hayden Stalnaker outside Johnny Gringos restaurant on Chester Street. The tragic incident occurred around 3:30 a.m., prompting a rapid response from both the Painesville Police Department and the Painesville City Fire Department.
Officers arriving at 11 Chester Street located Bo Martin suffering from a gunshot wound outside the establishment. Responders immediately rendered life-saving measures before Martin was transported by Painesville City Fire Department medics to University Hospital’s Lake West Hospital. Despite efforts to save his life, Martin was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
Suspect Detained by Bystanders and Arrested
At the scene, officers encountered the suspect, Dylan Hayden Stalnaker, who had been detained by bystanders moments after the shooting. Stalnaker sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Cleveland Clinic’s Hillcrest Hospital for medical treatment.
Following care, he was taken to the Lake County Jail, where he has been charged with Murder and is currently held without bond. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday, November 24, at 1:00 p.m. in Painesville Municipal Court.
