Inside the home, the mother and Dustin worked to collect her belongings while her two young children—just 7 years old and 7 months old—remained outside near a vehicle, unaware of the danger approaching.

After hearing the 7-year-old cry out, the mother and Dustin rushed outside and found Ryan Eagon unexpectedly in the driveway. According to witness accounts and physical evidence, Ryan immediately confronted Dustin, pushing past the mother and opening fire without hesitation.

As the chaos escalated, Ryan turned the weapon toward the two children, fatally shooting them both. He then directed additional gunfire at Dustin before ending his own life with a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.
