Detectives from the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Division, along with Evidence Technicians, immediately responded to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. The Kane County Coroner’s Office was also called to assist.

Victim Identification and Details

Kane County Coroner Dr. Monica Silva confirmed that two of the victims were deceased:

  • Jazmine Barclay, 24, of Aurora

Dr. Silva expressed condolences to the families of the victims:

“On behalf of my entire staff, I wish to relay our deepest condolences to the loved ones of Ms. Barclay and Mr. Heineman.”

Incident Overview

Preliminary findings indicate that Heineman and Barclay had been involved in a dating relationship. On Saturday evening, Barclay was accompanied by the 33-year-old male victim on the upper-level balcony of the Roundhouse music room when Heineman arrived at the business. Evidence suggests Heineman may have learned their location from a social media post and entered the venue with the intention of confronting them.

Witnesses report that Heineman opened fire on Barclay and the 33-year-old male, striking both. Heineman then turned the firearm on himself.

  • Barclay was transported to Mercy Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased due to gunshot wounds.
  • The 33-year-old male remains in critical condition in the ICU.
  • Heineman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that no bystanders were struck or injured during the incident.

Evidence and Investigation

A firearm was recovered near Heineman, along with additional evidence consistent with witness statements. Aurora Police continue to process the scene and gather information as the investigation remains active.
