JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, La. — The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office announced with profound sadness the death of Deputy Shaquille Guerin, who was tragically killed in Jefferson Parish on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Deputy Guerin, a dedicated officer and valued member of the department, is being mourned by colleagues, friends, and the community. The incident remains under investigation by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
A Dedicated Public Servant
Deputy Guerin had served the St. John Parish community for over eight years, dedicating 8 years and 65 days to the sheriff’s office. During his tenure, he was assigned to the uniform patrol division and also contributed to the detective bureau, demonstrating a commitment to public safety and justice in multiple capacities.
“Shaquille did his job well! He had the heart of a public servant,” Sheriff Mike Tregre said. “He carried and showed positivity as an employee for the St. John Sheriff’s Office and was a teammate to his coworkers.”
