MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Montgomery Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning, leaving Kashabe Perkins Jr., 19, of Montgomery, dead and two others injured. The incident took place on the 4600 block of Mobile Highway, a busy corridor in the city, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement and emergency personnel.
According to MPD, officers and fire medics were dispatched to the scene following reports of multiple people shot. Upon arrival, responders located Perkins suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to an area hospital but was later pronounced deceased.
Additional Victims
Police also discovered two other victims at the scene:
- An unidentified boy, whose exact age has not been released, was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
- An unidentified woman sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was also taken to a local hospital for care.
Investigators noted that two firearms were recovered at the scene. Authorities have not yet identified a suspect, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
