Ryan Hardy, 23, Identified as Suspect in Shooting of 11-Year-Old Girl in Antioch; Police Say He Is Armed and Dangerous

ANTIOCH, Calif. — The suspect in the shooting of an 11-year-old girl in Antioch has been identified as 23-year-old Ryan Hardy, according to the Antioch Police Department, as authorities continue an urgent search and warn the public to remain vigilant.

Police say the shooting occurred at approximately 12:38 p.m. on Monday in the area of 3915 Delta Fair Blvd., where the young girl was struck by gunfire. The child was rushed for medical treatment, and while officials have not released updated details about her condition, the incident has shaken the community and prompted an intensive investigation.

In a press release issued Wednesday, Antioch police cautioned that Ryan Hardy should be considered armed and dangerous. Authorities stressed that members of the public should not attempt to confront him under any circumstances. Instead, anyone who sees Hardy or has information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.

Investigators believe that Hardy did not act alone after the shooting. According to police, evidence gathered so far indicates that several individuals may have assisted Hardy in escaping from law enforcement following the incident.
