In Loving Memory of Donald Dotson Jr.

ALEXANDRIA, La. — The Alexandria community is mourning the loss of Donald Dotson Jr., 43, whose life was tragically cut short following a crash early Friday morning, November 28.

According to the Alexandria Police Department (APD), officers responded around 6:30 a.m. to the intersection of MacArthur Drive and Coliseum Boulevard after reports of a serious accident. When they arrived, they found Donald critically injured. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries, leaving family, friends, and the community heartbroken.

Authorities confirmed that Donald had been operating an electric scooter when it collided with a motor vehicle. APD reported that routine toxicology samples were collected, and based on those results, impairment is not suspected. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

Though the news report outlines the facts, the loss of a life reaches far beyond a single moment. Donald’s passing has created a void that cannot be filled, and those who knew him now hold onto cherished memories—moments of laughter, conversation, kindness, and the quiet impact he made simply by being present in their lives.

In times like these, a community pauses. We reflect not only on what has happened, but on the person whose life has touched ours. Donald’s journey, though ended far too soon, leaves behind a legacy of love felt deeply by those closest to him. The Alexandria Police Department expressed condolences, and the sentiment is shared by many who knew him or who have been moved by this tragic event.

As loved ones navigate unimaginable grief, may they find comfort in their memories, in the support of those around them, and in the knowledge that Donald’s life mattered—immensely. His story does not end with the tragedy of his passing, but continues in the hearts of all who carry him forward.

Rest in peace, Donald Dotson Jr.

You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
